APMAS (Mahila Abhivruddhi Society Andhra Pradesh) is a national-level organization with a vision of building a sustainable self-help movement in India, working toward women’s empowerment and poverty alleviation through capacity building, quality assessment, livelihood promotion, communication, research and advocacy. Established to meet the need for an institution which provides capacity building for both primary and secondary stakeholders, APMAS supports community-focussed self-help groups (SHGs) and SHG federations, helping them realize their full potential for engagement in microfinance and for sustainable livelihoods. APMAS makes an impact in the community through working with multiple stakeholders, receiving support from the government, banks, NGOs and community based organizations.
